Group Winner in Hillerød 2015
What an experience! Mandela won a place in the Best in Show finale at DKK's international show in Hillerød September 20th 2015!
It started as a wet experience as the breed judging took place outside in the rain. Mandela was not really affected by the weather and was quite prepared to work for the lovely meatballs I had in my pocket. This paid off and the Irish judge Florence Fahey chose Mandela as best in breed - and in addition he also won the title Copenhagen Winner 2015 :-)
Then some hours of waiting before the group competitions, which fortunately was placed indoors. Mandela got some rest and was ready and on the beat when prejudging began. In the main ring Mandela was picked out as the four best dogs in Group 5 and the tension rose. The judging was by the Danish judge Gunnar Nymann, and his four finalist was sent around the ring again. Mandela performed really well and he must have caught Gunnar’s attention as he chose Mandela as winner of group 5, sending him on to Best In Show. Unfortunately we was not placed among the four best in show dogs, but I’m just really really satisfied and proud to win Best in Group with Mandela :-)
While Mandela and I worked hard in the main ring my grandmother and my parents were following us on live stream home in the sofa, cheering and holding fingers crossed. It’s always nice with back up support.
